Cellular BLE Hub Guide
Overview
Cellular BLE Hub A100 is the bridge device between pre-integrated BLE devices and RPM IoT platform.
It’s key features are:
- Connect BLE devices autonomously and forward measure to platform
- Up to 5 BLE devices data are captured in parallel
- Complete fast integration with any new BLE device without coding
- Work in any place of LTE signal coverage. Instead ,WIFI can be considered.
- Remote OTA
Getting Started
Step1: Power on Cellular Hub
Put cellular hub on the table and connect it to power source by USB power cable. You can watch that the red(SYS) LED light blinks slowly until being always on after a while, which means hub enters the normal work state. The green(NET) LED light becomes also on if the Internet link between hub and RPM IoT platform is established.
Pay attention:
1. It might take long time (1~3 minutes) to activate SIM card at the first time.
2. Hub may not work smoothly in poor LTE coverage place. Instead, wifi can be considered.
Step2: Case1,Measure Blood Pressure
Wrap arm strap and press ”START” button on BPM screen, you can watch that hub blue(BLE) light becomes on which means BLE connection is established between BPM and hub. Keep arm still until BPM retrieves BP data. Then you can watch that hub blue and green(NET) light blink in sequence, which means measure data is being transferred from device to IoT platform.
Check data on IoT platform such as,
Step3: Case2,Measure SpO2/HR
Pinch your finger into the pulse oximeter, you can watch that hub blue(BLE) light is also on. Keep finger stationary to retrieves SpO2/HR data, Then you can watch that hub blue and green(NET) light blink in sequence, which means measure data is being transferred from device to IoT platform.
Check data on IoT platform such as,
LED Light
Hub has three lights:
- The RED light indicates the system status.
- The GREEN light indicates the network connection status.
- The BLUE light indicates the BLE connection status.
The following table summarizes the light behavior:
Light Behavior | Status |
---|---|
red light is solid on | system startup initialization completed |
red light is flashing slowly | system startup initialization in progress |
red light is off | system is not started |
green light is solid on | a normal MQTT connection |
green light flashes twice quickly | data uploaded via MQTT |
green light is off | a disconnected MQTT connection |
blue light is solid on | at least one device is connected to the hub |
blue light flashes twice quickly | data uploaded via Bluetooth |
blue light is off | no devices are connected |
red/green/blue lights flashing in order | an ongoing OTA (Over-the-Air) update |
Web Console
WIFI hotspot Access
Hub offers WIFI hotspot for web console access. Hotspot name is ATHTECH-{mac} with password 12345678.
MAC address can be found on label of product. such as,
Web Console login
Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.71.1. Enter the password 12345678 and click on the login button.
System State
This page shows system information like hub MAC address, active time, system time, product model, IP, MQTT status, firmware version, APN and so on. Additionally, you can try network testing by ping.
Network Setting
The default link type is LTE. You can set the APN to ‘auto’ or choose one manually.
Instead, you can also select the WIFI type, enter the correct Wi-Fi name and password.
Pay attention:
The above setting works only after you click 'Save' and restart system.
NTP Setting
System obtain correct time through NTP protocol. Basically, default NTP Setting is ok.
Platform Configuration
By default, IoT platform configuration is AWS IoT, which guarantees the MQTT session is established automatically. This configuration can be customized on demand.
Devices
The pre-integrated device’s BLE connection status can be displayed on this page. Once a device is connected to the gateway, its status will 'Connected', Otherwise ‘Disconnected’
System Restart
There are three ways to restart system:
- Restart system in web console.
- Simply press the “reset” button on the product shell.
- Plugging hub power cable and insert again.
Note: After modifying and saving the configuration, need to restart system to take effect.
